With their handsome and clever Harpoon collection, Sydney-based, multidisciplinary studio Daast offers a range of furniture designs structured around a beautifully simple universal joint system. Winners of the SOYA Qantas program, Daast-founders Andrew Southwood-Jones and Alexander Kashin met while studying architecture at the University of Technology, Sydney, drawn together by their mutual fascination with material innovation and digital fabrication. Developed in 2014, Daast’s Harpoon collection unites material strength and aesthetic simplicity through a rigorously engineered, versatile mechanical joint that renders stools and tables super sturdy—without the use of glue! The Harpoon Coffee Table is offered in japanned black ash with eye-catch brass hardware, but it can also be ordered in natural oak with aluminum hardware. Just inquire with us! This handmade-to-order piece requires 6-8 weeks production time.
